It’s great to meet you.
My photos and scrapbooks just put a smile on my face as I relive fun times and travels, remember friends and family, process events, and even revel in the day to day mundane. It’s impossible to be sad in a room full of craft supplies, while trying new hacks and techniques with tools, or making new friends and building community as you share photos, stories, and ideas.
Crafting, taking photos, and travel are my therapy! And hey, who doesn’t need therapy these days? I love providing people with an opportunity to escape while doing something both creative and useful, like taming the thousands of photos on your phone and hard drive, in the cloud, or in a shoebox under your bed!
MY WONDERFUL
Journey
I got my first Instamatic camera in fourth grade and I was immediately hooked on snapping photos of everything and everyone. Over the past 25 years, I’ve traveled the world as a diplomat and international education advisor, moving 18 times and dragging my scrapbook supplies and camera with me. Now, I’m happily ensconced in Washington, DC in my forever home with a craft studio where I share my love of scrapbooking and crafting.
HOME
Life
I currently live with my partner, Richard, in Washington, DC. We recently undertook a huge renovation to combine two condos to make our perfect home, complete with a craft studio. We are both avid advocates for public transportation and bicycle and pedestrian safety and live a car-free existence – which makes it a wee bit challenging to haul my craft supplies to classes! But I’m committed! You’ll often see me pushing a cart full of scrapbooking supplies (or groceries) through DC’s metro. Richard and I are both “foodies” and love trying new restaurants and to cook, often jostling for space and time in our small kitchen.

My favourite Books
Cookbooks are my favorite books to read. I usually first read the restaurant and food columns in a newspaper, followed by the travel section, before moving on to the news.
Coffee!
I love coffee as much as I need it in the morning and am always in search of the perfect coffee in the perfect cafe. My latest obsessions are with Espresso Tonics and cardamom lattes. Though at home in the morning, I take my coffee black!
Water Therapy
Having grown up in Michigan, the Great Lakes State, I’m most at peace when on a boat of any kind — a row boat, canoe, sail boat, speed boat, ferry, or even an ocean liner. My perfect vacation is often water-side. I prefer craggy cliffs to sandy beaches and love river cities (Paris anyone?) and lakeside views.
